- Forestry An exploration of the various plants and trees, and their interdependencies, in a northwestern forest.
- Lake Study Students will explore the inhabitants of our lake. Concepts taught include the water cycle, food chains, watersheds, communities and adaptations.
- Animal Science Hands-on learning to care for, clean, groom and feed domestic animals–cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, horses, rabbits and poultry.
- Rocks and Soils Collect, identify and discuss how rocks and soils are formed. Overturn rocks to discover the variety of mineral formations.
- Compassing and Orienteering Knowing how to read a map is an essential skill for living. Our map and compass class is a basic introduction to orienteering; the skill of map reading using landmarks and a compass.
- Survival Campers learn how to stay alive in the woods, including how to build shelters and start fires.

Both Island Lake and Miracle Ranch are situated between the Puget Sound and the Hood Canal. There are numerous beaches to explore in the area; your group may enjoy taking advantage of area attractions as part of your program. While beaches and the following attractions are not included within CRISTA Camps’ programs, they may enhance your school’s outdoor education experience on the way to or after leaving camp.
