Horsemanship Classes for ages 7-18
Level 1 Western No previous experience necessary!
This is a great place to start! This class covers all the basics such as; the four natural aids, what they are and how to use them, the mechanics of stop, start and steer as well as covering basic equitation, control and technique. Weather you have been in this class before or brand new to the program you are sure to have fun with the games that will enhance your overall horse experience!
Level 2 Western Completion of Level 1 Western required
This class goes one step beyond in perfecting the equitation that helps our rider/ horse communication and zooms in on the specifics of using the four natural aids. You will be refining techniques, balance and your understanding of how the horse moves. As this class moves at a faster pace it is important that the basics are second nature.
Horse Club Completion of Level 2 Western required (if new to Horse Club, previously Level 3, must have director approval before signing up)
Be prepared to get in the groove with really learning how we as riders affect our horses. This class will work through patterns, schooling figures, rein aids, bending and timing of the rider. As a class we will learn knot tying, saddling, grooming, and general horse care. This will be a fun class with each week being different from the previous week.
*This is a two hour class, but will require that you groom and tack your own horse!
NOTE: If your child has participated in a HORSE class previously we want to ensure that they are in the appropriate skill level class for their optimum learning capabilities. If you are unsure which one would be best for your child, please feel free to call Josh Goodman (253) 851-4410. |
