because…
“…of the amazing sense of community, of every member of camp working and striving towards a common goal: cultivating relationships with one another and with God, and ministering with love to everyone who comes in the door. It's the true essence of the Church, intense and undiluted - the raw practicing of fellowship through faith, prayer, and love, which isn't merely focused inwards, but is used to benefit everyone. Camp, when used like that, isn't just your life for a summer... it's living.” –Abby (summer 2006)
“…God moved with His powerful, restoring love in my heart and in the lives of all those around me. I will never forget it! Working at [camp] was the best summer of my life.” Devin (summer 2007)
“…it’s a place where you can be with people who love God and love people; where you can be yourself and grow in your walk with the Lord; where you can invite campers to walk with you in Him. Camp is a place that teaches you to love.” –Lexy (summer 2007)
“…your heart grows stronger for the love of Christ and you can change a life just by being a friend.” –Kayla (summers 2006-2008)
Important Information
Summer staff members are an integral part of each camper’s experience. The campers will remember the time they spent with you for years! Training includes learning practical methods for leading group activities appropriate to the ages, interests and abilities of campers. Our program stresses teamwork and involvement—so each camper you impact can experience the encouragement of personal achievement and accomplishment within their group setting.
Summer staff selection begins in January, and continues into the spring. Summer staff will be involved in serving guest groups and traditional camp programs. Applicants must be eighteen years of age or older. Some positions require the applicant to have completed at least one year of college or equivalent experience. The terms of an employee's contract and the length of stay may vary depending upon the position. A servant's heart and flexibility are key to a successful summer of ministry.
